Easter!

We're totally into Easter around here this year. In a chocolate rabbits-Peeps-enjoying-the-nice-weather kind of way, more than a rising-from-the-dead kind of way. It started with the coloring of the eggs last weekend:

Our friends (and former neighbors!) James, Emily and Henry came over to join the fun:

The "no spill" color kit really worked, but the boys were having too much fun playing in their diapers!
Added bonus: Eli loves to eat boiled eggs, even after he accidentally ate a shell!
Who would have guessed (Grampa Ed)?
Then, on Saturday, we went to Thanksgiving Point for some Easter festivities.

We started with the "train ride." This guy was driving like a mad man. Seriously.
Our friends Drew, Fionna and Titan ... all smiles before the scare!
Here's Eli ... holding on for dear life! Ok, this was actually before we started moving. But he knew!
Daddy quickly snatched him up for the rest of the ride!
Then we lined up for the 3-and-under Easter egg hunt. 1,000 eggs ... over in about one minute!

Mike ran out to the far side of the hunt to stake a spot out for Eli:
In a typical lame-parent move, we forgot Eli's Easter Basket. Luckily, I had a shopping bag in my car!
It didn't take Eli long to figure out what to do:

He even got some sympathy eggs from a little friend!
Although it looks like this poor kid might have just been afraid of Mike!?!

Eli wasn't ready to be done when all of the eggs were picked up ...
... so we had to keep throwing out the same five eggs that he got!
Mike braved the crowd and sidled up to the Easter Bunny with Eli:
 Eli loved to pet him!
And gave him a big wave "bye, bye!"
All in all, five eggs was loot to be proud of!

Easter egg hunt at home coming soon ...

  1. That looks lots of fun! And you were only about 2 minutes away from my house. :)
